OBERACKER TO GOVERNOR: LET’S GO!

MORE INFORMATION; CLARITY NEEDED ON PHASE 2 REOPENING

Schenevus, NY – Candidate for New York State Senate Peter Oberacker called on Governor Cuomo to immediately release more detailed information regarding Phase 2 of the plan to reopen the state.

“We have been receiving many calls and messages asking where to find details regarding Phase 2 and sadly, there are none,” Oberacker said.

“The residents and business owners of this state have been going through a very challenging and anxious time, being left in the dark about the details and guidance to get back to normal doesn’t help. It’s the job of government to keep the people informed in a transparent and accountable manner,” Oberacker continued.

The original plan has Phase 2 set to begin in nearly all of the 51st Senate District this Friday, May 29th, however there has been no official word from anyone that this is the case. 

“Business owners need time to prepare and get ready to re-open. People using those businesses need to know they can. This region is ready and willing to safely and responsibly move to fully re-open, but a tough situation is being made more difficult by leaving everyone in the dark,” Oberacker continued.

“The Governor shut this state down, now he owes it to the people to better communicate and inform the public about the plan to reopen it. His daily press conferences would be better suited for this type of communication," Oberacker concluded.
